Select "none" when choosing layout for uploaded pictures then drag them side by side.. if the total width of the pics exceeds your column width in your blog template, it will still move the picture down when U publish. Your template looks like the main column width is pretty narrow so they will have to be real small pics to place side by side... Hope that helps.
