Busted teeth!

This post is a little late, but oh well. Last Tuesday David fell in the kitchen and almost knocked out his front teeth. When it first happened, one tooth was in the wrong spot. But a little later he took a drink with his sippy cup and pushed it back up where it belonged. His gums were pretty banged up. But basically everything else is fine. His dentist said they may darken, but so far, they have not. We were lucky this time!

WARNING - THE FOLLOWING PICTURES ARE GRAPHIC. IF YOU HAVE A WEAK STOMACH OR DO NOT LIKE BLOOD, PLEASE SKIP THIS POST!!!

Here's David's teeth right after his accident happened....

Check out that fat lip!

And here he is the following day....

The mouth sure does heal fast. He was such a brave boy going to the dentist. And he did pretty good with the pain. I kept the tylenol and motrin pretty steady the first day or so. They are almost all healed now. We still have to be very careful brushing his teeth as the gums still want to bleed. But other than that, we made it this round with teeth intact!

When Alexis was 2 or 3 she fell off of my piano bench and hit her front teeth as well. I couldn't believe how much blood there was. Then the very next day she fell in the bathroom and hit them again. Still more blood. Dr. said we just had to wait to see if they get black or not. Luckily everything was ok, I just couldn't imagine my little girl without her two front teeth for several years until the others came in.
