4th of July with the Lusk family

4th of July morning, Daniel Lusk Magic and Schmidt and Young Construction teamed up and were in the Brownsburg parade. Unfortunately, it was soggy and rainy, so David, Madelyn and I decided to stay home. At 5:30 that evening, our community had a parade, so we decorated the stroller, complete with some patriotic music and decided to join in. Wouldn't you know, that there was a line of rain between 21st St. and Rockville right during the Avon Trails Community Parade? We just can't escape!

Here we are afterwards...can you tell I'm a little water logged?

The stroller sure looked festive.

After the parade, the community had a cook out. The food was yummy. And then David and Daddy decided to toss around the pigskin.

After eating, we decided to head home and do some of our own fireworks. Daniel had some old bottle rockets. David loved watching. But Madelyn wasn't quite sure. She would sit in her lawn chair until the fuse was lit, then she would run in the house. I bet she ran about 1000 miles between the chair and the house. She was cracking us up.

Despite the look on his face, he really was having a good time.

I praise God we live in a free country. I loved spending the day with my family. Thank you to the troops past and present that have dedicated their lives to uphold the truths our country was founded on.

Looks like a ton of fun! Madelyn seems as edgy with the bottle rockets as Jadi used to be. :)

We didn't have rain in my area, but I don't ever remember wearing a sweatshirt on the 4th like I did this year. Strange weather we had!
