It's finally here!!

Happy Halloween! David has been anticipating this holiday for weeks. This morning when I told him it was finally here, he was ready and so excited to go trick or treating just like Charlie Brown. But first, we had a little craft time.

Making sure to cut so straight.

Decorating so carefully.

And our finished projects. A mouse for David and a crown for Madelyn. So fun!!

For lunch Daddy fixed ghost hot dogs and pumpkin bologna. Mommy even made some orange Kool-aid to add to the festiveness.

Then it was time to carve our pumpkins!! David chose Thomas and Madelyn wanted Tinkerbell. David participated a lot this year with his pumpkin. He helped gut it and even helped trace the outlines and do a little carving. Madelyn on the other hand would have nothing to do with sticking HER hand in a slimy pumpkin. She's too prissy for that!!

Time to pose with their finished pumpkin and show off their costumes. David was Buzz Lightyear and Madelyn was Rosetta the Tinkerbell Fairy.

This year we stepped outside of the box and did a little outside decorating. There are a few homes in our neighborhood that go all out for Halloween and David was insistent we needed to join in the fun too. I bought some spider webbing and spiders, added some caution tape, a flying bat, pumpkins and even found a witch that appears to have crashed into our door at the Dollar Store. David was very proud of our decorations and I suppose that makes it all worth it. :)

We then went to a few houses in our neighborhood for trick or treating.

The kids were adorable in their costumes..... but for some reason we had THIS Joker following us everywhere we went. What a goof!!

Lovin' the spandex tights honey! Thank goodness the costume covers the rest of that up. We wouldn't want to traumatize all the kiddies on Halloween. :)

We finished our delightful evening with a pot of home made chili and even roasted some pumpkin seeds. We had a great time and made some great memories. We hope you had a great day too!
