5 minute Friday

I know, I know.  It's not Friday.  It's Monday.  But when God says write, you just write.

Quoting Gypsy Mama:

"For fun, for love of the sound of words, for play, for delight, for joy and celebration at the art of communication.
For only five short, bold, beautiful minutes. Unscripted and unedited. We just write without worrying if it’s just right or not."

Friday's word: Unexpected

Sometimes in writing, the words are slow to come.  Thoughts don't form and the mind can turn to mush.  But sometimes, God says "write" and it's like taking dictation as the words, His Words, begin to flow.  The following poem I wrote this morning after reflection on Psalm 139.  But particularly verses 11 and 12 which say:

11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

When darkness is all around
and black is all I see

When the next turn in my life
is an obstacle to me.

Your Word tells me that darkness
is but a light to You.

The unexpected twists and turns
are never a surprise to You.

Your Word it is a lamp
and a light unto my path.

I'm praising You that You are God
and I can just relax.

God is good all the time.  And all the time, God is good.
Praising Him always,
Becky

Becky, this is just beautiful. I wish I could follow you by RSS feed, but I don't see one! Would you consider adding one? ~Lori
